simply wonderful

to friend carlito: yes, i am aware of the fact that you do *not* like "foodposts" here.. but sorry.. i just had to post these in this day's entry XP

okay. a lot of things happened to me today. it's been a hell of a busy day.. but it sure was wonderful. primarily because i got to spend (much-needed) bonding time with my folks (yeah, you read it correctly. i happen to like bonding with my parents. i guess that's another one of those things that make me weird. i don't care. live with it, haha)

let me start from the beginning..

i woke up relatively early (for a non-working day, that is). i got up early so that i could bring wyjel to the land transportation office (20th ave branch) to have him registered. by 8.30am i was already there. the entire process took just about 1.5 hours. before 10am i was already back home. hahaha. the system was surprisingly efficient for a government agency. wow.

anyway. i got home.. turned on my pc and worked on this week's issue of the newsletter. i was able to finish everything except for the front cover. that kept me happy, hehe. i was waiting for mom to get dressed because we planned to go to gateway mall for lunch. around 12nn, we left the house and took the lrt to the mall.

mom and i bought movie tickets to hancock (2.20pm showing). since i was quite famished by that time, we decided to have lunch at max's. we waited for dad to arrive (he showed up around 1.15pm).. and by the time the three of us were done with our food, it was time to go up to the theater for the show.

hancock was a good movie. at least, for me it is XP i especially like the fact that it wasn't as predictable as i thought it would be. the plot is good.. and there weren't too many cheesy or overly dramatic scenes to make one barf (clearly i'm *not* in a sentimental mood hahaha). i thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie. i think the folks did too, haha. mom even wanted to watch it again. and that almost never happens, hahaha XP

after the show, we went to funeraria nacional to go visit ma'am rory (our principal). her husband died early this morning.. and the three of us went to condole with her. a number of upis people were there, too.. though the math dept people were not yet around by the time we got there (most of us will be visiting tomorrow evening, i think). after an hour or so of chatting and spending time with the bereaved family, the folks and i left.

it was almost 6pm by then.. and after a long day, i personally didn't want to eat dinner at home. after all, who wants to have to wash dishes after a tiring (but of course happy) day, right?! so to spare me from washing dishes (and to spare himself from having to cook, hehehe), dad drove us to conti's greenhills. oh wow.. hahaha.. i just *love* that place XP

so we had a sumptuous meal at the restaurant (though it may not be all that obvious from the pix posted below.. right, carlito?! XP). i loved the baked salmon.. and the baked mussels. yumyumyumyum!!! hahaha. and the price isn't half bad, either. considering that their serving size is quite hearty.. and the quality of their food is good.. conti's does serve affordable meals XP

yup, it's a wonderful day, all right. and what makes me happier is that after a long, long, long time, i got to treat my parents to lunch, a movie and (part of) dinner XD true, with the salary i am getting, it might take me a while before i can replace everything i spent today. but i am totally ok with that. after all, *this* spending is 100% guilt-free XD
this day would have been perfect if you were here, though i guess this shouldn't surprise me at all.. *sigh*
