i'm a law-evading citizen

we had choir prax in makati today.. and soulmate hitched with me to st paul to attend to the youth formation scheduled this morning. we were almost at the venue when a traffic cop signaled me to pull over at the corner. uh oh..

anyway, i could not think of any traffic violation i committed.. so i asked the cop what was wrong. he then pointed to my front license plate (the UP centennial commemorative plate) and asked for the accompanying documents for it. i complied.. and then he proceeded to quote a portion of the instructions. the document stated that the commemorative plate had to be placed the original plate. uh huh. well, yeah.. that's what i did. but the cop said on top of meant "nasa taas ng plaka.. hindi natatakpan 'yung original na plate"

er. duh?!? if i remember my english grammar correctly, on top of translates to nakapatong in filipino. i think what he meant was that the commemorative plate had to be above the original one. which, frankly, would look silly and ugly at the same time.

but the traffic cop did show me a photocopy of a circular.. and it did state a new ruling about how commemorative plates should be used. these should be placed above or beside the original plate.. so that the license number would not be covered. uh huh. right. setting aesthetics aside, that would be a good idea, i guess..

but i don't think i'd be doing that any time soon.

i didn't buy a commemorative plate just to display it "ugly-ly" hahahahaha XP

time to take it off. i am a law-abiding citizen, after all.. hehehe
